Melopee is a free, browser-based web app that converts audio to sheet music and sheet music back to audio. It is designed for non-musicians: hum a melody and get editable ABC notation you can play, transpose, print, or share.

How do I convert humming into sheet music?

Open the Extract page, click Start Recording, and hum or sing your melody. Melopee detects the pitch in your browser and writes ABC notation you can edit and play back. You can also upload an existing WAV, MP3, or FLAC file.

Yes. Melopee is free and installable as a Progressive Web App. Once installed, transcription and synthesis run in your browser and work offline. No sign-up is required to use the core features.

Audio in: WAV, MP3, FLAC, and other common formats. Notation in/out: ABC notation, Simple Notes, and MusicXML. Outputs include ABC, MusicXML, MIDI, guitar tab, lead sheet, PDF, WAV, MP3, and FLAC.
